January guest designer... Jean!

As the mom of two adult children who are both married, I have been scrapping less than when the kids were little. But that is going to change now that I have a new a granddaughter. My style has also changed over the years and now includes a variety of mixed media elements including texture paste, inks and mica flakes. I love starting with a sketch and this two pager inspired me! The first thing I thought of when I saw it was some kind of weather and in particular, winter.

A few years ago my daughter and her fiancé visited Michigan for Christmas. Living out west, and not being used to this kind of weather, my daughter made sure her fiance enjoyed outdoor activities such as sledding and skiing. I was able to create a wintery scene by dripping a paint wash from the top and adding texture paste snowbanks to the bottom. Vellum snowflakes and mica flakes added a snowy feel to the background.

You can find Jean on Facebook, her blog Pagesintime, and  Instagram.

Here's our sketch again:

  1. Congrats Jean and a great two pager.

  2. Love the snowy elements which add so much texture! Beautiful LO's as usual!

  3. I too love how you have given these pages a 'snowy' look and really like all the texture you have achieved.

Thank you for stopping by to visit us at Stick it Down! We love having you.
