Please welcome our double page guest designer this month...

Hi everyone!  I’m Michiele from Oklahoma.  I am married to my high school sweetheart, Ky.  We have been married for 26 years and have three great teenagers.  I started scrapbooking when my first child was born - 19 years ago.  I have done both digital and paper scrapbooking, but my favorite is definitely paper scrapbooking.  I don’t get the same relaxing feel from digital as I do from paper scrapbooking. I go through phases scrapbooking so I am definitely behind!

My style is pretty simple.  I wish I would be more adventurous.  I almost always do double layouts with multiple pictures.  My favorite tool is my Silhouette Cameo.  I use it to create cut outs and lots of vinyl lettering. I am currently working our our Caribbean cruise from 2013.

Please welcome Katy as our single page guest designer this month!

Hi, my name is Katy and I live in a beautiful town called Wivenhoe in Essex, England. I have a long suffering husband and 4 year old, identical twin boys. I've been crafting my whole life but have been a scrapbooker since the summer of 2005. Back in the day, I used to spend all the times that I wasn't studying or working, crafting or shopping for crafting supplies. When the twins were born, my life changed and suddenly I had so little time for me but i had even more reasons to scrapbook - i needed to find a way to simplify my scrapbooking without loosing my style. 

This is when I joined Stampin' Up! I needed to not worry about choosing papers that 'went' together, I needed things that would coordinate and I needed to know I could buy them without scouring the internet or spending hours driving to craft stores! What came along as an added bonus is the inspiration from thousands of other crafters worldwide, oh and that by sharing my projects and collecting orders from others - i actually get my stash for free! All of these combine to mean I can spend more time crafting! 

I hope that my layout inspires you to create something, thanks for inviting me to be a guest designer!

design team call & NSD giveaway!

It's time for a design team call! We are looking for new members for our single page layout team and our double page layout team and we're also looking for sketch designers.

Our next term will run from July to December 2016. Please do not apply if you cannot commit to this time frame.

What you will do:

• provide one project per month, with possible special events during the six month term
• comment on all submissions as you are assigned
• post our challenge to your blog and other social media outlets 
• have projects completed and posted one week before the deadline

What you need:

• an active blog
• a Facebook account as this is where the DT "meets"
• a love for sketches
• organizational and time management skills

What we will do:

• provide the sketches one month in advance
• provide your posting schedule and commenting assignments
• be supportive and encouraging
• share your photo and your blog link on the SID blog
• share your project on various social media outlets

How to apply:

• send an email to Stick it Down at StickItDownChallenges@gmail.com with the subject line "Design Team Call"
• include your name and location
• include a list of current commitments (no experience necessary!)
• include three of your favorite layouts that best display your style and suit the requirements of the team you are applying for (ie submit cards if you are applying for the card team)
• introduce yourself in few brief sentences
• If you have experience or are interested in designing sketches, please include a few of your sketch designs in your application as well.

This call is open to everyone, including our current team members, and will run until 11:59pm on May 31. This will give us the entire month of June to prepare for the next term. The new team will be notified by June 4 and announced on the SID blog on or around June 10. The new design team's projects will be revealed in July. If you have any questions, please let me know!
