September guest designer... Vivi!

I`m Vivi Casale, happily married and live in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
I work as a secretary for over 35 years now and have been crafting for more than 10 years. In the past,  had opportunity to join few design teams and had my own magnolia stamps challenge blog.
Now, I love spending time in my craft room playing with my stamps, copic markers, scissors, big shot & silhouette trying something new and sometimes making things that are out of my comfort zone.
Besides crafting my others passions are: travel around the world, books and purple color!

Sketches are awesome, love them.  I normally follow it as it is, don`t change much.
so I chose a cute bear holding a flower stamp and colored it with Copic markers as I wanted it to be the focal point of my card.
I love working with embossing folders, always play with them if I get a small chance but the sketch was great and allowed me to have a big part of it embossed, so I used a flower folder.
I wanted it as clean as possible so I decorate with a small paper rose, cristals drops, tiny pearls,  few sequins and added diamond stickles all around the sentiment to have some sparkle on the card!!

September guest designer... Susan!

I'm an architect (and Star Wars fan) from Flemington, NJ and married to an amazing, patient husband who encouraged me to share our dining room space with my art supplies in our small circa 1889 Victorian house. We are blessed with two wonderful boys and I love to document our family through scrapbooking, because it provides me a way of getting some satisfaction organizing our photos and memories while simultaneously creating some artwork. I see my work as my personal journal, with images and graphics.

I wanted to feature a vertical photo of the Bunker Hill Monument, so I turned the sketch to accommodate. When i did that, it reminded me of last months single page sketch, with flags flying to the right of the page instead of hanging down. I thought this would be appropriate for a patriotic themed page, documenting a historic National Park we happened to visit days before the 4th of July holiday last summer.

I really wanted to try my new Ranger texture paste from My Little Scrapbook Store. I’ve had this sparkly red fluff in my stash forever and struggled for years to find a successful way to adhere to layouts in more creative ways than just along a line of glue or ATG tape. The stately masonry elevations in the Charlestown section of Boston was all I needed to remember which inspired me to grab my new brick stencil and CTMH masonry paper background that I’ve been hoarding for something special. I like how the brick pattern reminds me of flags flying to the right of the layout, and all the tags in the decade-old Adornit patriotic paper collection supported that flag flying image I had in my mind.

I love that I was able to incorporate such old stash items in my collection with some new items.

September guest designer... Karen!!

I am mom of 2 wonderful girls and married to my best friend and husband for 25 years. I am an avid scrapbooker, card maker and paper crafter. I have been scrapbooking since my girls, who are now in their 20s, were babies. I have been a Close To My Heart Consultant for the past 2 years. I have so much fun sharing my inspiration with my friends and customers.

As soon as I saw this sketch I knew I had to use it to record one of our visits to Burlington VT to see our older daughter and one of the many places we visited while there. The diagonal strips were so much fun to create with and I especially enjoyed using an embossing folder on some strips to add some additional dimension. The row of flowers inspired me to have fun with these sunflowers (which is my daughter’s favorite flower).

All of the products used in this layout are from Close To My Heart and are part of the latest catalog.
