December guest designer... Amanda

She's no stranger to SID - welcome Amanda back! :)

I’m Amanda and I live in Essex in the UK, where I work part-time as a bookkeeper. My main hobby is scrapbooking but I’ve also been making cards for about 20 years. Even after all this time I much prefer working from a sketch to coming up with my own ideas for new cards. I'd like to thank Ashley and the Stick It Down team for asking me to be a guest designer this month.

When I saw Laura's card sketch, my immediate thought was to just copy the fringed tree, but
I don't have any fringing scissors so I started looking for another way to make a layered pattern. My bracket border punch can make lozenge shapes when overlapped and I thought the shapes would be rather effective on a Christmas bauble.

Here's our card sketch:

January - June 2018 card team!

Please welcome our card team for the January - June term!

My name is Alison and I live in Bend, Oregon right in the center of Oregon. I am married and have one thirteen year old daughter along with a dog named Wrinkles. I started traditional scrapbooking over ten year ago which branched out into card making, mini albums, and other paper crafts. I work part time as Speech Language Pathologist helping children birth to five years of age. On my days off I keep busy crafting, volunteering at my daughter’s school, gardening, reading, and enjoying the outdoors.

Hi, Colleen from the beautiful state of Michigan. I am a mother, wife and grandmother to 5 very active kids. I have been scrapping for about 15 years but seriously scrapping for about 6 years. My style is eclectic and evolving. I love to make cards, scrapbook layouts, altered projects, as well as love making flowers and create most of the flowers on my projects. I use my Sizzix, other dies, Silhouette Cameo, punches and stamps to create the shapes and go from there.

 Jess
My name is Jessica Kaiser and I live in Saskatchewan, Canada.  I’m a stay-at-home mom & homemaker (my primary job!).I have been a crafter for as long as I can remember!  In 2007, I was introduced to rubber stamping and my passion has taken off from there!  I offer local cardmaking and papercrafting classes out of my home.  I love to learn new techniques and styles of cardmaking.  I am primarily a cardmaker, although I do love to scrapbook as well.  My cards are currently sold in 4 locations locally. I would describe my style as very clean – so sketches work great for me!    I definitely like to try different styles though and have put abstract creations together – but they usually end up being clean designs anyways!  I’m so excited to be joining such a fun Sketch Design Team! In my spare time, I love to cook & bake and I’m a Zumba Fitness Instructor.

My name is Lori and I live in a small SW Missouri town with my husband and our two sons. We also have a daughter who is married and has a sweet little girl that I get the pleasure of watching while her Mommy works. I started scrapbooking 18 years ago, and card making soon followed. Making cards gives me that quick creative fix that I sometimes need. Nothing relaxes me more than spending time in my craft room and creating cards and layouts.

I’m Evelyn.  Like most of you, I have always been crafty one way or another.  I knit, did counted cross-stitch for a few years, and have made beaded Christmas tree ornaments.  I’ve kept a scrapbook since I was a girl.  It included grainy, out of focus black and white photos taken on school field trips and around my home, locks of hair from when I got it cut, and paint samples from when I painted my bedroom walls (pink and yellow!)  When I discovered scrapbooking, I took that old scrapbook apart and re-made it using all acid-free materials.  My first die cutting machine was the Cricut Expression.  I now have two of them, a Gypsy, a Cameo and a Portrait, and use all of them to make scrapbook layouts, cards, and other paper items as well.  I'm honored and excited to be a member of the Stick it Down design team!

Hi, I'm  Denise Holmes. I’m married with three grown up sons and two sheltie collie dogs.  I work full time in an Accountant's and can generally be found crafting whenever I get a spare moment.  I'm a passionate paper crafter and have always loved crafty thngs.  I started making cards in 2006 and expanded into scrapbooking shortly after attending my first crop, when I discovered I could create beautiful memories for myself, have fun and amke friends in the process!  I really enjoy messing about with distress inks and rubber stamps, and often incorporate these into my layouts and cards.  I'm definitely an inky, fussy cutting type of crafter!

Sharon

Hi!  I’m Sharon Bessinger.  I am so excited to be joining Stick it Down and their talented Design Team!  I’m married to Shaun going on 23 years and we have a 3 wonderful kids.   We also have 2 rescue dogs, Pippin and Shandy, 7 chickens, and a bunny… I’ve always been an artsy person, I am a silversmith as well.  From the time I was little, I loved to color and create fun projects.  A couple of years after our oldest son was born (20 years ago), I was introduced to scrapbooking. I fell in love with it.  I love creating in my craft room with paper and a cup of coffee, listening to my echo podcasts or music.

January - June 2018 single page team!

Many of the SID single page girls are familiar faces, but we're pleased to add a few new friendly faces this term! :)
Hi!, my name is Loreto Barsby (instagram @lorebarsby), I’m Chilean and I live in Santiago with my husband and two little daughters. I met the scrapbook in 2013 and since then it was love a first sight and I don’t go a day without seeking scrappy inspiration.
My Family  are the primary subject matter of my layout, they are my inspirations for scrapping, I'm rarely without a camera to capture the moment. I don’t really have a certain style, but I would define my style as simple an colorful. I’m so excited to be a part of the Stick It Down!!!

I’m Laura Rumble, an M.E. suffering crafty scrapping Auntie in my early thirties from the UK.  Besides creating and spending time with my nephew I enjoy nature and food, and they often become my scrapping topics.  I’d describe my style as lots of white with pops of bright colours and I usually have sequins and/or ribbon on my layouts!

Hello, everyone. My name is Cathy. And I live in Keelung City of Taiwan with my husband , a 18 years old daughter and a dog name little Ben. For my profession I teach Chinese literary in junior high school .  I have always loved playing with handmaking, which has resulted in hobbies like sewing, baking, and garden design.  I start with making cards for my daughter’s birthday,  After my crafty friends took me into scrapbooking 3 years ago, I just completely addicted to it.
So I always want to spent more time for make a layout.  It’s so much fun to choose the papers, colors, inks, embellishments and other mediums.

Julene has been scrapping for about 15 years. She has been on several design teams over the years and has enjoyed every challenge. She prefers traditional scrapbooking, but has tried a variety of styles. She also makes cards. Julene lives in Sydney Australia and has a 30 year old daughter.

Hey there, I'm Niki. I live near London in tihe UK with my hubby and our two young kiddies, Sophie age 5 and Max age 3, who are pretty much always the subjects of my layouts. Aside from being a full time mum, near enough full time childminder, I would also call myself a full time scrapper! I teach scrapbooking classes locally, am on the Hey Little Magpie design team, the Silhouette UK design team and GoGo Getaway design team and I average around 30 layouts per month! I just love playing with pretty paper and glittery things and enjoy keeping all those memories of my babies and my day to day life. My favourite manufacturers right now are Crate Paper and Cocoa Vanilla Studio, oh and Pinkfresh Studio and I would describe my scrappy style as a 'throw it all on' kind of style. I love to drink vanilla coffee and eat shortbread biscuits while I scrap. Thanks so much for having me on the Stick it Down design team I can't wait to get my scrap on with you! xx

Helen

Hi, my name is Helen and I’m a craft addict! I have been scrapbooking since 2002 when I first got introduced to this wonderful hobby. I used to scrapbook clean and simple double pages, however, over time my style has morphed more into a messy mixed media single page style. The photos I’m using and the mood I’m in is what really determines what my pages look like at the end. I also like to create YouTube videos as a source of inspiration, well I hope others find inspiration and don’t just laugh at my Aussie accent. In my craft room I scrapbook, make cards, create mixed media canvases, art journal and paint abstract paintings. Really, I enjoy anything that feeds my creativity. By day I am a primary school teacher and by night a single mother to teenage twin boys. I love sharing my projects and hope that people find some inspiration from what I create.

I am an Australian, happily married with two children in their early twenties. We have a much loved Golden Retriever who regularly excavates our back yard!!I work 4 days a week with mainly 4 year olds, offering health assessments when they enter school. I love it and I think it is the best job in the world!! I have always enjoyed my creative side, working my way through various handcrafts till I settled on scrapbooking!

I am  also a Design Team member for Scrap The Girls and Off The Rails scrapbooking challenges. I love sketches and I can’t wait to start "Sticking It Down!!"

Karen

My name is Karen and I live in Essex with my lovely husband of 30 years.  We have one daughter – Gracia  who is 24 and recently qualified as a doctor, and a Golden Retriever – Kiera. Gracia and Kiera are the main focus of my scrapbook pages.   I  have been on the design teams for Scrapagogo and Shimelle and am currently on the design team for A Trip Down Memory Lane and Silhouette UK.

Crafting is an inherent part of my everyday life – I have to do something creative every day or my day doesn’t feel complete.  I like to scrap my frustrations, my triumphs, my love of life and my family, I like to record the sad, funny, ordinary and just plain weird things that happen in our everyday life, I scrap the everyday.  I am not an acid free scrapper as I like to add all sorts to my pages.

I am thrilled to be part of this ultra talented group of girls who will be showcasing their amazing projects over the next year.

January - June 2018 double page team!

Please welcome the January - June 2018 double page design team!

Hi, I am Tina. I live in South Williamsport, PA. I am married to a wonderful man now 24 years between the 2 of us we have 8 kids, 17 Grandkids, 6 Greatgrandkids :) We are the owners to 1 fur-baby too, Buddy an Australian cattle dog (Blue Heeler) and has been part of our lives since 2004. I'm a machine operator working the night shift for Leclrec foods.
I started scrapbooking in 2007 when 2 coworkers/friends took me to my first crop, one of the girls said all I needed to bring was the pictures and anything special to go with them, she provided me with my first album and I had access to her supply of paper. I fell in love with the hobby that day and have been doing it since, that year for Christmas they gave me my first tote-bag kit that I still use when going to crops. I love to scrap in my Scrapcave (scraproom) it gives a chance to relax and enjoy the process of preserving memories. I scrap, make cards, smash and project life.

I'm Lauren and I'm from Philadelphia, PA. I've been married to my husband Mike for 9 years.  We met in elementary school and started dating the summer after we graduated from high school. We have two furbabies, Rocky the Boxer and Daphne the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. I work from home for a yearbook publishing company, so even in my job, I work with photography and page layouts. I started scrapbooking 14 years ago and I am absolutely obsessed.
My other hobbies include antiquing, photography, reading, gardening, and cooking/baking. I love to travel, and that provides so many scrapportunities for layouts.

I am a HS science teacher by training and substitute teach a few days a week.  I help my husband run his business and manage our little mini-farm of chickens, Black Angus steer in the summer, and raise German Shepherds.  My most important job is being Mom to our two boys!  We adopted them from Russia not quite 8 years ago.  DS #1 is a Senior in High School and DS #2 is in 6th grade.  We also have a daughter who is a Senior college.  I’ve been crafting all my life and scrapping since 1997 when I started with Creative Memories . . . but soon diverged!  My favorite thing to scrap is events and double page layouts are my go-to format.  I also enjoy making cards and creating home décor. It is a pleasure to join the Stick It Down design team, thanks for having me!

Hi there, I am Cathy and I hail from sunny South Africa. I have been scrapping since 2003... was introduced to this hobby by my BFF Judi and have not looked back. I eat, sleep and create scrapbook layouts. I love to scrap with a "mix and match" style... ie anything goes so long as the photos are highlighted and the story is told. I am married to Keith and mother to Aaron, who features in most of my pages. My scrapping is my photo album and thus I scrap the everyday memories that we make. I am honoured to be chosen to be part of this team and can't wait to get stuck in and scrap.

Hi!! I'm Shannon and I am a double page junkie so I am super excited to be joining the double-page team!  I just hate the thought of leaving a picture left unscrapped!  When I am not scrapping,  I am a wife, mother of 2 children and 3 furbabies and a Social Worker.  I have been scrapbooking in one form or another my whole life, but have been "acid free" since 2004.  In the past, I have had the privilege of designing for several manufacturer's and print magazines as well as on-line stores.  And I am so happy to be getting back into being part of a team after taking a break from scrapbooking to obtain my Master's degree.

Hi, my name is Antonia and I’m over the moon to be designing for the Stick It Down blog! I’ve been scrapbooking for about eight years now, but only been ‘going social’ recently with my work. I mostly do 12”x12” single page layouts, but I also use double layouts and pocket page journaling in my travel albums and my kids’ school albums.

You can find me on Instagram as @antsheartseggy

Carol
I am a mother to 3 wonderful children and married to wonderful man for 20 years. He supports my “hobby," but still thinks it is just about ‘sticking bits of paper onto other bits of paper’. I am blessed to live in the beautiful coastal town of Swakopmund, Namibia. I began my scrapbooking journey in 2008 when I resigned from teaching Grade 1, and became a stay-at-home mom. In 2011 I opened on online scrapbooking shop, namely Scrapbooking Namibia. My inspiration is my family, especially my children and nieces. I love how scrapbooking celebrates the little details in my life. It makes the ordinary extraordinary and that’s how I want my children to remember their lives – as an extraordinary blessing.
