March sketch reveals!

February guest designer... Amanda!

 

I’m Amanda and I live in Essex in the UK, where I work part-time as a bookkeeper. My main hobby is scrapbooking, but I’ve also been making cards for about 20 years. Even after all this time I much prefer working from a sketch to coming up with my own ideas for new cards. I'd like to thank Ashley and the Stick It Down team for asking me to be a guest designer this month. I was a regular team member back in 2015 and it's always lovely to be invited back.

This month's card sketch struck me as quite masculine with strong lines and angles, so I made a card for my nephew using a Papermania collection called Mr Mister. I kept the background quite subtle and added colour in the middle of the card where I swapped the central stripe on the sketch for a second banner, layering the two together with my sentiment on foam squares for a bit of dimension. I punched the 'No. 1' circle from one of the papers, attached it with more foam squares and scattered a trio of star stickers across the card to finish off.

February guest designer... Dorlene.

 

I am a wife, mother and grandmother.  I started scrapbooking in 2000 and boy, has my style changed!  Then again, so has scrapbooking in general.  I love the process from taking the photos, finding the perfect layout and then gathering all the supplies to go with it.  I love to try new techniques and products whenever possible and I love using sketches.  They are a great jumping point especially when you're short of time or having creative block.  

The diamonds on the sketch really caught my eye.  I thought the scattering would be a great way to use up some scraps - which is what I did.  I also love a multi-photo layout.  I have so many of the birth of my grandbaby so this one page sketch worked and will be a jumping point for the remaining photos.  I sure had fun figuring out where to put the diamonds across the page.  I love how the page turned out and I hope you do too.

February guest designer... Jennifer!

 

I'm Jennifer, married to Joe for 22 years and together we have two teenagers!  I started scrapbooking and card making about 13 years ago and have never looked back!  I don't always have as much time as I'd like to create, but enjoy it whenever I get the chance.  My family provides me with lots of pictures...whether they like it or not!  I'm always checking out various sketches online....old or new, I love sketches! 

 

The LO I've created for February's double sketch challenge is of my family while we vacationed in the Poconos in 2013.  A great sketch for several photos to feature my family hiking and enjoying the waterfalls.
